Over the last six weeks, eighteen of our girls from Year 8, 9, 10 and 11 have been taking part in a Girls without Boundaries program led by Natasha Sweeney Meadowcroft from Lancashire Cricket Foundation. This program is part of our new Health Intervention initiative and has proven to be a success with all of the girls who have taken part, something we aim to continue for the foreseeable future.
Our pupils have worked tirelessly during this term, creating a dance routine, which has enhanced their confidence and self-esteem. On Monday 26th March, our girls, along with 11 mainstream secondary schools from across Trafford attended Lancashire Cricket Club to take part in the ‘Girls without Boundaries’ dance competition. Our girls performed amazingly, coming joint 4th place. The other schools were very complimentary about our pupils and spontaneously started a round of applause and cheering them, which showed real team spirit across the schools.
The judges made a point of talking to our staff afterwards to say how our girls were the only group that had made them smile throughout the performance. A special mention went to Jessica Fanshawe one of our Year 9 pupils, who sang the whole routine and led the rest of group superbly.
Our pupils were extremely proud of the medals they received. They were a true credit to the school, themselves and their families.
We would like to personally thank all parents who attended to support our pupils
Well done girls!
